About Our Soaps

What makes HyssopBloom soaps different from commercial soaps?

HyssopBloom soaps are crafted using the traditional cold-process method — a technique that preserves the natural integrity of every ingredient. Each bar is made in small batches, hand-cut, and cured for several weeks before it reaches you. We use 100% plant-based ingredients with no synthetic dyes, no parabens, and no phthalates. The result is a gentle, nourishing bar that commercial soaps simply can’t replicate.

What does "cold-process" mean?

Cold-process soapmaking blends oils, butters, and a lye solution and allows saponification — the chemical reaction that creates soap — to occur naturally, without applying external heat to cook or accelerate the process. This is what distinguishes it from hot-process methods. Because the reaction proceeds gently, the natural properties of the oils are preserved, including their conditioning qualities. The result is a richer, denser, longer-lasting bar that mass-produced alternatives simply cannot replicate.

Why do the soaps need to cure for several weeks?

Curing does more than just dry the bar. Over several weeks, the saponification process completes fully — ensuring no active lye remains — the pH naturally drops to a skin-friendly level, and the soap's molecular structure stabilizes. The result is a denser, milder bar with a richer lather that lasts significantly longer. We never rush this process.

Are your soaps safe for sensitive skin?

Our soaps are formulated with gentle, plant-based ingredients and are free from synthetic additives. That said, everyone’s skin is different. If you have known sensitivities or allergies, we recommend patch testing before full use: lather a small amount on the inside of your wrist and wait 24 hours. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Are your soaps vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes. All HyssopBloom soaps are 100% plant-based and cruelty-free. We do not test on animals, and our formulations contain no animal-derived ingredients.

Do your bars contain lye (sodium hydroxide)?

Lye is a necessary part of the saponification process that turns oils into soap. Once the chemical reaction is complete, no lye remains in the finished bar — it is fully transformed. Our cured soaps are safe and gentle.

Where can I find the full ingredient list for each soap?

Every product page lists the full ingredients and essential oils used in that bar. We believe in complete transparency about what goes on your skin.

Do your soaps contain artificial fragrances?

No. All HyssopBloom soaps are scented exclusively with pure essential oils — no synthetic fragrances. Each scent profile is selected to complement the bar’s character and sensory experience.

Why do bars sometimes look slightly different from product photos?

Because each bar is handmade and hand-cut, slight variations in color, swirl pattern, and size are natural and expected. These are a feature of genuine artisanal craftsmanship, not a defect.

Ordering & Pricing

What sizes are available?

Standard bars are 5oz (3" x 3" x 1⅛") and are the signature HyssopBloom experience. Mini bars are 2.5oz — a perfect way to try a new bar or keep one in your travel bag. 4-Pack Bundles (20oz) are also available at a small discount, reflecting the savings in packaging and shipping.

How do I know which soap is right for me?

Each product page describes the scent profile, key ingredients, and the kind of sensory experience the bar delivers. If you’re new to HyssopBloom, the Mini Bar is a great low-commitment way to try a variety before committing to full-size bars.

Can I buy a bundle or mixed selection?

Yes — both options are available. For stocking up on a single favorite bar, the 4-Pack Bundle (20oz) is offered for every signature bar. For a mixed selection, we offer two curated collections that include every HyssopBloom bar in one order: the Pure Abundance Collection (full-size 5oz set) and the Buoyant Discovery Collection (Mini Bar 2.5oz set — a lower-commitment way to try the full range). What is the Hyssop Medley and what’s in it?

The Hyssop Medley is our zero-waste bar — made by suspending the offcuts and shavings from our other signature soaps into a fresh nourishing base of plant oils and butters. Because it incorporates pieces of our other bars, every batch is slightly different in appearance and scent, reflecting whatever was being produced at the time. The base oils (Unrefined Cocoa Butter, Unrefined Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Olive Oil) and essential oil (Geranium) remain consistent. If you have a specific allergy to an ingredient in one of our other bars, we recommend checking all product ingredient lists before purchasing, as Medley batches may include shavings from any of our formulations.

Do you offer wholesale or supply for businesses?

Yes — we work with boutique hospitality operators, wellness retreats, and independent retailers who want to offer their guests a genuinely handcrafted, plant-based amenity. Subscriptions

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Log in to your HyssopBloom account and navigate to your subscription dashboard. You can cancel at any time — no phone calls or hoops to jump through.

How does the HyssopBloom subscription work?

You can subscribe to any standard bar and receive it automatically — either monthly or every 3 months. You can skip, pause, or cancel anytime from your account portal. For any other custom changes to your subscription, feel free to reach us via support@hyssopbloom.com

What discount do subscribers receive?

Subscribers currently receive 5% off the standard retail price, locking in their rate for the life of their subscription. This is particularly valuable right now — HyssopBloom is in its introductory year, and our current pricing is promotional. Subscribers who join before the introductory period ends will retain their locked-in rate even after retail pricing is updated.

Can I subscribe to the Mini Bar or 4-Pack Bundle?

Subscriptions are available on standard bars only. The Mini Bar and 4-Pack Bundle are available as one-time purchases.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship?

We ship across the contiguous United States, as well as to Canada and the United Kingdom. We are continuously reviewing opportunities to expand to additional markets.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — we currently ship to Canada and the UK via Shopify Managed Markets. Duties and taxes are calculated and included at checkout, so there are no surprise fees at your door.

How long does processing take?

Orders are processed within 1–3 business days. We ship Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays.

How long will delivery take?

Domestic US orders typically arrive within 3–7 business days after shipping. International orders to Canada and the UK typically arrive within 7–14 business days, though times may vary by carrier and customs clearance. You will receive a tracking number by email once your order ships.

Is free shipping available?

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on weight and destination.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Please contact us at support@hyssopbloom.com within 48 hours of delivery. Include your order number and photos of the item and packaging. We will arrange a replacement or refund promptly.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

Due to the personal care nature of our products, all sales are final. However, if your order arrives damaged or defective, we would make it right. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and your order number.

I am not happy with my soap — can I return it?

We understand that scent and texture are personal. While we cannot accept returns on opened or used products, we encourage you to try a Mini Bar first if you’re unsure. If something went wrong on our end, we would always take care of you.

Soap Care & Storage

How should I store my soap?

Keep your soap in a cool, dry place between uses. Allow it to drain fully after each use — a soap dish with drainage is ideal. Avoid leaving it sitting in water, which will cause it to dissolve faster.

How long does a bar last?

A standard 5oz bar typically lasts 3–5 weeks with daily use, depending on how it is stored and used. Proper drainage between uses significantly extends bar life.
